CONFERENCES

EDCC holds two conferences each year in various locations throughout the state.  These conference sessions focus on member education regarding pertinent economic development issues and networking opportunities for the exchange of ideas between members.  The spring conference hosts the Annual Awards Luncheon, while the fall conference incorporates EDCC's annual membership meeting.

2008 FALL CONFERENCE - OCTOBER 29-31 - DOUBLETREE HOTEL, COLORADO SPRINGS

The Economic Development Council of Colorado held its Fall semi-annual conference this year in Colorado Springs on October 29-31 at the Doubletree Hotel.  The theme of this conference was "Innovative Strategies for Colorado's Future."

There was a new format for this conference.  The program begun earlier on Wednesday morning to focus on legislative issues.  Special events include a Legislative Luncheon presenting the "Legislator of the Year Award" and a keynote presentation providing the results of the 3rd Annual Citizen's Poll on Economic Development. 

Thursday highlighted our  "Innovative Strategies" theme exploring best practices in economic development.  Top international leaders in innovation are scheduled to speak.  Keynote Speakers included Rob Atkinson, Founder and President of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation and David Clute, Customer Solutions Manager for Cisco Systems.

2008 Spring Conference
Burlington, CO

This conference was held in Burlington, Colorado on April 23-25 and had over 150 participants.  The conference was designed to designed to give the National Perspective on Workforce Development, Energy Development, and Professional Development on Thursday.  On Friday registrants heard how "Colorado Stacks Up!"  There were both national speakers that came from Washington DC, Texas, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Nebraska and our own professionals from here in Colorado.
